I came across this video just a few minutes ago, thanks to @GuyKawasaki. I found it most interesting because I, like many people, often fall in love with what we sometimes consider beautiful shots (ironically, very often shots of disaster).
This intrigued me as well as a journalist because I think we seldom think about the impact of our presence in an area. We often talk about how people like to play things up to the press, or how one person may be media hungry; seldom do we look at ourselves in this context.
That’s exactly what this photojournalist did. He explains it all in the video below. I think this is an extremely important video to watch, both for media practitioners as well as consumers of news/information/content.
I’m not implying that the shots are any less credible, but it is something worth taking into consideration when we appreciate such shots.
